How It Works

Every title is analyzed across multiple demographic dimensions.

Gender Axis

0 = strongly male-targeted, 100 = strongly female-targeted. Based on cast, genre, themes, lead demographics, and marketing signals.

Age Axis

0 = youth-oriented, 100 = mature-audience. Based on rating, complexity, platform, pacing, and violence profile.

Racial Audience

Representation across 9 racial and ethnic categories, measured against production-origin baselines. Higher means more representation.

Faithfulness

For adaptations: how closely the production follows its source material. Character accuracy, plot fidelity, tone, and cultural context.

Advocacy Tiers

Entertainment, Mixed, Message-Leaning, or Advocacy-Driven. LGBTQ+, disability representation, demographic swaps, and creator intent.

Audience Breadth

From Universal to Niche. Measures how broadly or narrowly a title appeals across all four demographic quadrants.

Why WhatSphere?

Data, Not Outrage

Every score is based on observable production decisions — casting, writing, adaptation choices. No opinion, no politics, just data.

Symmetrical Standards

The same rules apply in all directions. Whitewashing Egyptian gods and race-swapping Greek gods trigger the same signals.

Transparent Methodology

Every score is explainable. See exactly why a title scored the way it did via the score breakdown on every title page.
